Top Wicket-Taker in a Single CPL Season
Dwayne Bravo has taken the most wickets in a single CPL season. He claimed 28 wickets in 13 innings for Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel (now Trinbago Knight Riders) in 2015.
Notably, Bravo is the only bowler to take 20 or more wickets each in two CPL seasons. He carried his 2015 form into 2016 to pick up 21 wickets in 12 outings for TKR.
Bravo’s tally of 28 scalps in 2015 is also the most by a captain in a CPL season, with 21 wickets in 2016 ranking third.
Imran Tahir seals the second spot as a captain and a bowler with 23 wickets in 12 innings for Guyana Amazon Warriors in 2025.
Tahir’s 23 wickets in 2025 are the most a spinner has bagged in a single edition of the CPL.
Most 5-Wicket and 4-Wicket Hauls in a CPL Season
David Wiese is the only bowler to have taken two five-wicket hauls in a CPL season, doing so for St Lucia Kings in 2021.
Ravi Rampaul and Bravo have picked up the joint most four-wicket hauls in a CPL edition. Both claimed three four-for each for Barbados Tridents in 2014 and for the Red Steel in 2015, respectively.
Best Bowling Average, Economy Rate & Strike Rate in a Single CPL Edition
Devendra Bishoo has recorded the best bowling average in a CPL season (minimum 10 wickets). He averaged 11 while taking 12 wickets in seven innings for Guyana Amazon Warriors in 2015.
Sunil Narine has registered the lowest bowling economy rate in an edition of the CPL (minimum 100 balls). He had an economy of 4.37 while picking up 12 wickets in 10 innings for TKR in 2021.
The lowest strike rate in a CPL season belongs to Hayden Walsh. He claimed 22 wickets at a strike rate of 9.1 in nine innings in Barbados Tridents’ victorious 2019 season.
