Key Insights
The first-ever century in the history of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) was scored by Chris Gayle, who achieved the feat while playing for the Jamaica Tallawahs against the St Lucia Zouks on July 12, 2014.
The record for the fastest century in CPL history is jointly held by Andre Russell and Tim Seifert, who both smashed incredible 40-ball hundreds.
Russell also holds another spot on the leaderboard with a 42-ball century, while Shai Hope (41 balls) and Shimron Hetmyer (47 balls) round out the list of the five fastest CPL centuries.
While most of the centuries on this list resulted in match-winning performances, Gayle’s 116, against Patriots in 2019, remains the highest individual score in a losing cause in the tournament’s history.
