With the entertaining nature of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), we often see batters go after big scores.

While centuries aren’t regular, batters do cross 50 runs quite often. And few batters have done so more consistently over the years.

Fifty-Plus Milestones in CPL History

Lendl Simmons was the first batter to score 20 fifty-plus knocks in the CPL, doing so in 2021.

Johnson Charles, Andre Fletcher and Simmons are the three batters with more than 20 fifties without scoring a single century in the CPL.

Notably, Charles and Fletcher have scored all their fifty-plus scores as openers in the CPL.

Chris Gayle and Dwayne Smith have smashed the joint most centuries in the CPL, with four knocks each to their names.

Andre Russell has smashed the fastest fifty in CPL history. He reached 50 off just 14 balls for Jamaica Tallawahs against St Lucia Kings in 2021.

Most Fifty-Plus Scores by Captains and Wicketkeepers in CPL

Gayle has hammered the most fifty-plus scores as a captain in the CPL, with 16 knocks to his name. Notably, three of those were centuries, the most by a skipper in the league.

Kieron Pollard, with 14 knocks, is the only other skipper to have more than 10 fifty-plus scores in the CPL.

Fletcher and Pooran are the only two wicketkeepers with 15 or more fifty-plus scores in the CPL.

Single-Season and Single-Venue Fifty-Plus Records in CPL

Colin Munro has aggregated the most fifty-plus scores in a single CPL season. He brought up six half-centuries for Trinbago Knight Riders in 2018.

Martin Guptill (Guyana Amazon Warriors, 2014), Simmons (Trinbago Knight Riders, 2019) and Shai Hope (Guyana Amazon Warriors, 2023) are the other batters with five fifty-plus scores each in a CPL edition.

Evin Lewis is the only batter to smash 10 or more fifty-plus scores at a single venue (Warner Park, St Kitts) in the CPL.
