T20I cricket often sees an even contest between teams, especially with the bat. So, there’s always a high-scoring game on the cards.

But we have also seen some lopsided matches where the other team didn’t really turn up with the bat. Their batting lineup crumbled under pressure while chasing big targets. And in return, the bowling side registered some of the biggest wins.

A few teams have made a habit of keeping their opponent batters quiet, registering wins by 100-plus run margins more often. And we’ll see those teams with the most 100-plus run margin wins in T20Is below.

Record-Breaking Teams and Global Leaders

Canada became the first team to win 10 matches by a margin of 100 or more runs in T20Is.

India have recorded the most wins by a 100-plus run margin among Test-playing nations in T20Is.

Japan recorded eight 100-plus run margin wins in 2024, the most by a team in a calendar year in T20Is.

Among the full members, Bangladesh are the only team not to have won a T20I game by a 100-plus run margin.

Japan and Malaysia have won five or more matches by a 100-plus margin in their respective home countries.

Bahrain, India, and Uganda have secured four or more victories by a 100-plus margin at the home of the opposition.


Historical Feats and Largest Run Margins

Zimbabwe have registered the largest win margin in T20I cricket. They defeated Gambia by a whopping 290 runs after belting 344 in 2024, the highest team total in the shortest format.

England were the first team to win a T20I match by 100 or more runs. They wrapped up Australia on 79 runs while defending 179 runs in 2005. This was the second match in the T20I format.
