Debut Milestones and Historic High Scores
Jaiswal made his Test debut against the West Indies at Roseau in 2023. In that very same Test, he scored his maiden century. This made him only the third opener and overall the 17th batter to score a century on Test debut for India.
Jaiswal’s 171 is also the third-highest individual score by an Indian batter on Test debut. This is also the highest individual score by an Indian batter on debut in an overseas Test.
Double Centuries and Boundary Hitting Records
Jaiswal didn’t wait too long for his first double century. He slammed 209 against England in the first innings of the Vizag 2024 Test. This made him the third-youngest Indian batter to score a Test double century, at 22 years and 36 days.
In the very next Test, Jaiswal recorded his career-best score of an unbeaten 214 against England in Rajkot.
He struck 12 sixes in the 214-run knock, the joint most by a batter in a Test innings.
Jaiswal became just the fifth batter to score two double centuries against England in a bilateral Test series.
He is one of the two Indian batters, along with Vinod Kambli, to score two Test double hundreds before turning 23.
Overseas Test Centuries and Tour Records
Jaiswal smashed 161 against Australia in the third innings of the 2024 Perth Test. This made him the second-youngest Indian opener to score a Test hundred in Australia, at 22 years and 330 days.
The 161-run knock is the sixth-highest by an Indian opener in Australia in Tests.
Jaiswal has taken a liking to scoring big knocks against England. He added two more centuries against them on the 2025 tour.
This made Jaiswal only the fourth Indian opener to score two centuries against England in England in a bilateral Test series.
Jaiswal’s 101 at Leeds made him the second-youngest Indian opener to score a Test century in England, at 23 years and 174 days.
Dominance Against the West Indies
Jaiswal is one of the two Indian openers to score two or more 150-plus knocks against the West Indies in Tests.
The 175-run knock makes him the second-youngest Indian centurion against the West Indies at home in Tests.
