Most Fours in a T20I Innings by Individual Batters

Dylan Steyn (Czech Republic) and Darius Visser (Samoa) hold the joint record for the most fours in a T20I innings, striking 17 boundaries each against Bulgaria and Malaysia.

Aaron Finch smashed 16 fours during his 172-run knock against Zimbabwe, which remains the highest individual score by any batter in a T20I innings.

Finch’s 16 boundaries are also the most recorded by a captain and the most by a batter in an away T20I.

Matthew Spoors hit 14 fours on his T20I debut for Canada against the Philippines, recording an unbeaten 108, the highest individual score on debut. It is also one of the fastest T20I centuries by a debutant batter.

Brendan Taylor holds the record for the most fours at a home ground, hitting 16 boundaries against Botswana in the 2025 Harare T20I.


Chasing Records and Leading Boundary Hitters in T20Is

Babar Azam and Aritra Dutta have smashed the most fours while chasing in a T20I innings, recording 15 fours each against South Africa and Japan.

Babar has hit 10 or more fours in seven T20I innings, the highest frequency by any batter in the format. He is also the overall leader in boundaries in T20I cricket.

Mark Chapman is the only player to hit 10 or more fours in three separate innings against a single opponent (Pakistan).

Graeme Smith was the first batter to hit 10 or more fours in a T20I innings, achieving the feat with 10 boundaries against New Zealand in 2005.


Specialized Scoring Feats and Match Phase Boundary Records

Burhan Niaz scored the highest percentage of runs through fours (minimum 30 runs), collecting 32 of his 34 runs via eight boundaries against France.

Travis Head struck 12 fours in the powerplay against Scotland in 2024, the most in that phase of a T20I innings.

Visser and Mitchell Santner hold the record for the most fours in the death overs, each hitting eight boundaries against Hong Kong and West Indies in 2025.
