New Zealand have logged the lowest team total in a Test innings. They folded for 26 against England in the third innings of the 1955 Auckland Test. This remains the one of the two instances of a team scoring below 30 runs in a Test innings. New Zealand’s 26 all out is also the lowest total for a team at home, followed by West Indies’ 27 against Australia in 2025 Jamaica Test.

South Africa, meanwhile, have registered the lowest total by a team in an away Test. England bundled them for 30 runs in the 1924 Birmingham Test.

Except for Afghanistan, the other 11 teams have registered below 100 totals at least once in a completed Test innings.

Australia, England, and South Africa have been all out for less than 100 runs in more than 30 innings.

When it comes to the most below 50 innings totals, South Africa top the list. The Proteas have been all out for less than 50 runs in seven innings.

Australia have recorded the most below-100 all-out totals against a team in Tests. England have bowled them out for less than 100 runs in 26 innings.

Speaking of the most below-50 all-out totals against an opponent, South Africa have logged five against England.

England’s 45 for 10 in the first innings against Australia is the lowest all-out total to end up in a Test win. Despite the bumpy start, England pulled off a 13-run victory in the 1987 Sydney Test. This is the only below-50 team total to end up in a win.

South Africa have five instances of getting all out below 100 runs in both innings of the same Test, the most by a team. Four of those matches have come against England, the most for a team against an opponent.

South Africa and Bangladesh are the two teams to score a below-100 total in their debut Test matches. South Africa mustered 84 against England in 1889, while Bangladesh put up 91 against India in 2000.
