The World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 is currently underway. A total of nine teams are competing in the fourth edition.
While a few teams are almost out of the final race, some teams are trying their best to make the top two.

How the WTC 2025-27 Format Works: Tournament Structure & Schedule Format
Participating Teams: Nine teams compete in the WTC to win the Test mace after every two years.
Format: Each teams play six bilateral series against six Test opponents. Teams host three series at home, while they tour for three overseas series
Points: Teams receive 12 points for a win, six points for a tie and four points for a draw.
Rankings: Teams are not ranked based on the points won but rather on the percentage of points won.
Here’s the formula to calculate the percentage:
Percentage = Points Won/Points Contested*100
Final Qualification: The top two teams with the highest percentage will qualify for the WTC 2027 Final. It will be a one-off Test played at The Oval in England from June 9 to 13, 2027.
Previous Winners: Each WTC edition has seen different winners. New Zealand were the inaugural winners in 2021, while Australia and South Africa won in 2023 and 2025, respectively.
