Individual Milestone and Captaincy Records

Shubman Gill became the first batter to score 3000-plus runs for India in Tests in the 2020s decade.

Gill is also the only Indian batter to smash more than 10 centuries in Tests in this decade. He is among the top five century-makers in Tests since 2020.

Yashasvi Jaiswal is the only Indian batter to smash two Test double centuries in this decade.

Gill has aggregated the most runs for India in a bilateral Test series in the 2020s decade. He scored 754 runs on the 2025 five-match England tour. This is the second-most runs by an Indian batter in a bilateral Test series.

Jaiswal has accumulated the most runs for India in a calendar year in the 2020s. He scored 1478 runs at an average of 54.74 in 29 innings (15 Tests) in 2024. This is the second-most runs by an Indian batter in a year in Tests.


Positional and Specialised Batting Records

Rishabh Pant’s runs are the most by any wicketkeeper-batter in Tests in the 2020s decade.

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s run tally is the highest by an opener for the Men in Blue in this decade.

Pant and Ravindra Jadeja are the two batters who have scored 2000-plus runs at No. 5 or lower for India since 2020.
