Australia’s Ronald Saggers has the best dismissals-per-innings ratio as a wicketkeeper in all formats (minimum 20 dismissals). He made approx. 2.181 dismissals per innings to end up with 24 dismissals in 11 innings.
Catching Milestones and Stumping Records by Keepers in All Formats
952 of Boucher’s 998 dismissals were catches, the most by a wicketkeeper across all formats combined.
Australia’s Adam Gilchrist (813), India’s MS Dhoni (634), Australia’s Ian Healy (560), South Africa’s Quinton de Kock (533+) and Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara (532) are the other keepers with 500-plus catches in all formats.
Dhoni has effected the most stumpings in all formats, with 195 dismissals.
Sangakkara (139), Romesh Kaluwitharana (101) and Bangladesh’s Mushfiqur Rahim (101) are the other keepers with 100-plus stumpings in international cricket.
Most Wicketkeeping Dismissals in a Calendar Year
Gilchrist has made the most dismissals as a wicketkeeper in a calendar year across all formats, with 106 dismissals in 55 innings in 2003.
Gilchrist is the only wicketkeeper to make more than 100 dismissals in two calendar years, with 2002 being the other year when he made 102 dismissals.
Format-specific Wicketkeeping Records
Boucher made 555 of his 998 dismissals in Test cricket, the most by a wicketkeeper in this format. No other keeper has more than 500 dismissals in Tests.
Sangakkara, meanwhile, leads the chart in ODI cricket, with 482 dismissals in 353 innings.
Quinton de Kock, England’s Jos Buttler and Rwanda’s Didier Ndikubwimana are the three keepers with more than 100 dismissals in T20Is.
