India are the only team to successfully defend 200-plus totals in 30 or more matches in T20Is.

Australia were the first team to defend a total of 200-plus runs in the shortest format. The Aussies posted 214 runs on the board and restricted New Zealand to 170 runs, winning the match by 44 runs. Notably, this was the first-ever T20I match, played on February 17, 2005.
Zimbabwe have recorded the largest margin of victory in T20Is, as they won by 290 runs while successfully defending their total of 344 for 4 against Gambia in 2024.

Japan are the other team to defend five or more 200-plus totals against a team, having done so against Mongolia.
Japan, in fact, won five matches after scoring 200 or more runs in the first innings against Mongolia in the 2024 home bilateral T20I series. This is the only instance of a team winning five or more matches while defending 200-plus runs in a bilateral T20I series.
