Border scored 1670 of 6095 runs at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, the most by a skipper at a single venue in all formats.
Graeme Smith, meanwhile, has scored the most runs as a captain in away fixtures in all formats. He accumulated 6863 runs in 153 innings.
Ponting (6561) and Virat Kohli (6137) are the other captains with 6000-plus in away matches.
