But someone like Rishabh Pant doesn’t think twice before swinging his bat hard. And no wonder, he is among the top six hitters in the format.

Most Sixes and Best Ratio by Active Test Batters
Rishabh Pant is the only active batter who has scored more than 100 sixes in Tests.
His sixes-per-innings ratio of around 1.1 is also the highest among the active batters with 30-plus sixes in Tests.
Harry Brook comes close to Pant’s ratio, nailing approximately 0.79 sixes per innings.
Active Wicketkeeper and Opening Batter Test Sixes Records
All of Pant’s maximums have come as a designated wicketkeeper. This is the most sixes by a wicketkeeper-batter in Tests.
India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal is the only active opening batter with more than 40 sixes in Tests.
Jaiswal holds the record for the most sixes in a Test innings among active batters. He struck 12 maximums in his unbeaten 214 off 236 balls against England in the third innings of the 2024 Rajkot Test.
Most Test Sixes by Active Batters in Series, Venue and Calendar Year
Jaiswal also holds the record for the most sixes in a bilateral Test series. He scored 26 sixes against England in the five-match home series against England in 2024.
Ravindra Jadeja is the only active batter to score more than 50 sixes at home in Tests.
Pant, meanwhile, is the only active batter with more than 50 sixes in overseas Tests.
Pant and Jaiswal are the only two active batters to score 30 or more sixes each against an opponent in Tests, doing so against England.
Jaiswal has smashed the most sixes in a calendar year in Tests, scoring 36 across 29 innings in 2024.
