Dominance in Individual T20I Batting Records

Aaron Finch holds the record for the highest individual score in T20Is, having smashed 172 off 76 against Zimbabwe in 2018. This is also the highest individual score by a captain and an opener in T20Is.

Finch is the only batter to smash two scores of 150 or more runs in T20I cricket.

Muhammad Waseem’s 112 for the UAE against Ireland in 2022 is the highest individual score by an associate batter against a full member team in T20Is.

New Zealand’s Brendon McCullum and Zimbabwe’s Brendan Taylor have recorded the highest scores as wicketkeepers, scoring 123 against Bangladesh (2012) and Botswana (2025), respectively.


Fastest Centuries and Highest Strike Rates in an Innings

Sahil Chauhan’s unbeaten 144 for Estonia against Cyprus in 2024 is the highest individual score by a batter in a successful run chase in T20Is.

Chauhan crossed the 100-run mark off 27 balls, making him the fastest centurion in T20I cricket. His knock consisted of 18 sixes, the most by a batter in a T20I innings.

Turkey’s Mohammad Fahad has recorded the highest strike rate in a T20I innings, scoring his 34-ball 120 at 352.94 against Bulgaria in 2025. Estonia’s Chauhan (144* at 351.21 vs Cyprus) and Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza (133* at 309.30 vs Gambia) are the others with a 300-plus strike rate in an innings.

Fahad brought up his hundred in 29 balls, making it the fastest by a batter in the first innings of a T20I match. This is also the fastest T20I century by a wicketkeeper.


Unique Milestone and Positional Scoring Feats

Rohit Sharma scored five centuries while opening for India, the most by an opener in T20Is. Overall, his five hundreds are only matched by Glenn Maxwell.

Canada’s Matthew Spoors has smashed the highest individual score by a batter on his T20I debut, aggregating an unbeaten 108 against the Philippines in 2022.

Sahil Chauhan’s 144* is also the highest score by a No. 4 batter in T20Is.

Belgium’s Saber Zakhil is the only batter to score a century at No. 7 or below in T20Is, hammering an unbeaten 100 at No. 8 against Austria in 2021.

Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza reached the century mark against Gambia in 33 deliveries, the fastest T20I ton by a full member batter.
